It is worth the trip though and I can recommend everything on the menu. Very high quality with a medium price - a rare commodity these days Gåsgrand is most definitely a memorable bargain. 9/10

Sibyllegatan 47 Stockholm 114 42 Tel: 08 - 663 96 13	Stolen (The Chair) An beautifully decorated place with Dali-esque paintings and old corks and no two chairs are the same! More importantly, the food is excellent. Try the squid soup or the Bruschetta as a starter. Also the Beef is excellent (if you don't mind the uncooked stuff). Follow it up with the devine lamb or any one of the myriad of seafood dishes. 9/10

Grev Turegatan 16 114 46 Stockholm Tel: 08-679 61 00 Fax: 08-679 61 10	Grodan (The Frog) French, expensive, exquisite, the Frog will blow you away. Situated in Östermalm, in the east of Stockholm, book if you want a table. Grand food in a great renaissance setting at an (almost) grand price. Perfect presentation and great service add to the experience. My only complaint is that the tables are a little too close together. Miss this at you peril! 9/10

Berzelii Park 9 Stockholm 111 47 Tel: 08-566 322 22	Berns The interior of Berns was designed by Sir Terrance Conran and very grand it is too. Great food and a great place for a memorable night out. Try the bar (if you can get in) with an excellent view over Berzelli Park. Dress well or you will be disappointed at the door. Very nice, not cheap..... 9/10

Tyska Brinken 36 , 111 27 Stockholm Tel: 08 - 20 82 05	Shogun Excellent Japanese restaurant. Meals from £20 a head but try the banquet at about £40 a head (it is worth every penny!). The best Japanese restaurant in Stockholm by a mile! 10/10

Hötorget Kungsgatan 44 111 35 Stockholm Tel: 08 - 21 80 05 Fax: 08 - 21 80 05	Kungshallen Several restaurants under one roof. Try Sushi, Greek, Thai, Italian or Swedish dishes at very reasonable prices. You can get sandwiches, ice cream and beer and wine too! 8/10

Combine the decor with the live Jazz and throw in the reasonably priced 'good' food and you are sure of a good night out. Try the Elk starter or Lamb main course. The herring is worthy of inspection too. 7/10
